With you every step of the way

Specialist insurance advice for expats in Australia. Providing peace of mind by protecting what matters.

Our philosophy

At bdhLife we believe financial confidence comes from clarity, not complexity.

For expats, insurance decisions are rarely straightforward. Different jurisdictions, unfamiliar definitions and complex policy wording can make it difficult to know whether you’re truly protected. When your family, income or commitments span countries, certainty matters more than ever.

Our role is to remove that uncertainty, providing clear, practical advice that helps you make informed decisions with confidence.

Through specialist insurance advice, we work alongside you to develop strategies tailored to your unique circumstances. From initial advice through to ongoing review, we focus on protecting what matters most to you as your circumstances evolve – so you feel informed, in control and confident about the future.

Our approach

Many expats arriving in Australia assume their existing insurance will continue to protect them. However, this is often not the case.

Common issues include:

  • Policies that may not be claimable while residing overseas
  • Definitions of disability that do not align with Australian occupations
  • Income protection benefits that no longer reflect current earnings
  • Currency mismatches between premiums and benefits

We assess your existing cover to determine its suitability and, where appropriate, recommend adjustments or new arrangements to better align with your life in Australia.

About bdhLife

Powered by award-winning business Oakmont Financial Group, bdhLife is one of the few practices in Australia dedicated solely to specialist risk advice. This means our clients receive advice that is not only technically sound, but practical, flexible and designed to work when it matters most.

Using leading research tools and access to the full insurance market, we conduct comprehensive, independent analysis across available products. This is combined with our experience, strong insurer relationships, and deep understanding of policy structures and underwriting.

The result is advice that is aligned to your circumstances, both now and into the future.

We guide you through:

  • Identifying the types of cover relevant to your situation
  • Structuring appropriate levels of protection
  • Ensuring policies are designed to respond when they are needed most

Every recommendation is built around your goals, giving you confidence that the right protection is in place.

Personal Protection

Your protection needs will evolve as your life changes. For expats, this often includes protecting income streams, overseas obligations, and family members who may be based in different countries.

The strategy for someone early in their career will differ significantly from that of a family or someone with established wealth. Regardless of your stage, having a well-structured protection strategy helps safeguard your financial position.

We design tailored solutions that adapt with you, providing confidence that your income, assets and family are protected both now and into the future.
